11:20 p.m. Thursday — Kenneth Glass, 34, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife, 28-year-old Connie Glass, during a domestic dispute at the couple's West New Castle Street apartment. Glass was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bond.Wednesday — Police charged Richard A. Stepp Jr., 29, of Butler in connection with the reported Sunday theft of a Nintendo DS console and two video games from a car on North Cliff Street.Stepp is accused of selling the stolen property to a video game store in Butler Township for about $60. Apolice report noted that Stepp denied stealing the items; he told police that he bought them from someone else. Stepp is charged with receiving stolen property1:55 p.m. Sunday — A10-year-old boy faces a charge of criminal mischief for allegedly throwing a rock at a car on West New Castle Street. Police said the boy admitted he threw the rock that cracked the car's windshield.

Wednesday — Frederick Lee Bowen, 42, of Butler is accused of using someone else's credit cards to make unauthorized purchases at several Butler area stores.Bowen is charged with access device fraud, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.

Thursday — Police charged a Monroe County couple for allegedly skipping out on a bill for a three-week stay last year at a Freedom Road hotel.Joseph T. Borden II, 24, and Melissa Ann Borden, 32, both of Henryville, stayed at the Residence Inn from April 3 to 24, 2008, according to court documents, and left in the middle of the night without paying what they owed — $2,605.16.Police last month contacted Joseph Borden by telephone at his home; he acknowledged he and his wife were guests at the hotel and did not pay for their stay, police said.Both defendants are charged with felony counts of theft of services and conspiracy.

6:45 a.m. Thursday — Apickup truck driven by Daniel L. Stewart, 49, of Harrisville struck a tree on Turk Road, near weeks Road, in Brady Township. The tree apparently had been toppled by high winds.6:01 a.m. Thursday — Marc Antonio Pippens, 35, of Butler was arrested after police raided a Fairview Apartment in Butler that was under investigation for suspected drug trafficking.Using a search warrant, police found about an ounce of marijuana, scales and other drug paraphernalia and $1,030.Pippens is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance; he is in the Butler County Prison on $75,000 bail.
