Carl D. Eschrich

Carl D. Eschrich, 91, of Cranberry Township died Sunday.

Mr. Eschrich was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed the quiescence of the outdoors. He was an avid reader and aficionado of history, especially World War II.

A WWII Navy veteran, he served as a chief yeoman officer in the Department of Naval Intelligence.

He worked for the Equitable Gas Co. as a land and field agent for 40 plus years, and he was a member of the Northmont United Presbyterian Church.

He was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Twaddle) Eschrich; loving father of Nancy (Robert) Kaufman of Butler and Kathy Maloney of Atlantic, Pa.; grandfather of Shawn Kaufman, Laura (Brian) Hoover and Molly, Andrew and Max Maloney; great-grandfather of Travis Hoover and Zachary Maloney-Molisee; and brother of the late Freda Forcht.

<B>ESCHRICH</B> — Friends of Carl D. Eschrich, who died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>George A. Thoma Funeral Home</B>, 10418 Perry Highway, McCandless. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Northland Public Library, 300 Cumberland Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
