Richard A. 'Dick' Croy
Richard A. "Dick" Croy, 67, a resident of 489 George Junior Road, Grove City, Pine Township, Mercer County, for the past 21 years, died at 11:37 a.m. Wednesday at his home following a 1½ -year illness.
Dick was born in Marion Township, June 30, 1941, to Harry Bishop Croy and Lillian McFarland Croy.
He married Marie Cooke on April 18, 1964.
He retired in 2001 as an assembler from the General Electric Corp., Grove City, following 28 years from 1973 to 2001. Formerly, he worked for Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, from 1964 to 1973.
Dick was a graduate of Moniteau High School, and he served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War Era from 1961 to 1963.
He enjoyed doing yard work, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a Protestant.
Surviving are his wife, Marie at home; two daughters, Stephanie Lynne Barr and her husband, Gregory, of Slippery Rock and Michele Lee Brunson and her husband, Jim, of Grove City; six grandchildren, Sarah and Adam Brunson, Benjamen and Nathan Popejoy and Brandon and Jason Barr; four sisters: Ruby Taylor of Sharon, Garnett Hedglin and her husband, Robert, of Grove City, Edith Sims of Slippery Rock and Zelma Heckman of Pique, Kan.; and two brothers, Harry Croy and his wife, Freda, of Harrisville and Merle Croy and his wife, Barbara, of Virginia Beach, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Genie Croy; and a sister, Helen Kilmer.
<B>CROY</B> — Visitation for Richard A. "Dick" Croy, who died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry West of the Harrisville Branch Church officiating. Burial will be at the Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
