Mary T. Chos

Mary T. Chos, 89, of Butler passed away Thursday at her home.

Born Nov. 1, 1919, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Lesniak.

Mary was a woman of great faith. She was most proud of her time spent as a teacher of Christian doctrine at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Lyndora, where she was a lifetime member. It is now St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.

She also was an active and contributing member of the Butler Library Association for years.

Surviving are a daughter, Marlette Hlebak and her husband, Robert, of Canfield, Ohio; a son, John Chos Jr. and his wife, Ruth, of Butler; her beloved granddaughter, Holly Marie; a grandson, Robert; and her sister, Victoria Bain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Chos, whom she married Sept. 12, 1937. He died Nov. 14, 2001. Four sisters, Helen, Nell, Bernice and Sylvia, and her brother, Stan, also preceded her in death.

<B>Chos </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Mary T. Chos, who died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 303 Penn Ave., Lyndora. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Fidelis Catholic Church.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
