Dolores Anne Fines West, 81, of Westminster, Md., died Dec. 25 at the Long View Nursing Home in Manchester, Md.

Born March 18, 1927, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Morton Fines and Ruth Elizabeth Snyder Fines.

She was the wife of the late William Richard West, who died in 1998.

Before retiring, she was a school teacher for the Clearfield Area schools in Pennsylvania, where she taught first grade at Hillsdale, Woodland and Bigler Elementary.

She graduated from Heidelberg College with a bachelor of arts degree.

She was an avid reader and loved music and flower gardening.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Emily West and Michael Platt of Franconia, N.H.; a son and daughter-in-law, Don Harrison West and Cindy R. May of Westminster; grandchildren Ryan Andrew Pentz, Don Harrison Pentz, Justin Thomas May-West, Derek Ryan May-West and Danielle Lora May-West; and great-grandchildren Marcus Andrew Pentz, Kayla Ryan Pentz and Emmanuel Pentz.
