Margaret Marie Steibel, 89, of Newhaven Court, formerly of Whippo Avenue, died Tuesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Allegheny County, a daughter of the late Charles C. and Ida Mae Lingle Waugaman.

She was a 1938 graduate of Allegheny High School. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and had formerly worked for Knights Life Insurance in Butler and in voter registration for Butler County.

She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic minister at Sunnyview for more than 17 years. She also was a member of A.A.R.P.

Her husband, Paul N. Steibel, who she married Aug. 15, 1941, preceded her in death May 29, 1988.

Surviving are her son, Dennis P. "Doc" Steibel and his wife, Donna Steibel, of Butler; her daughter, Paulette Dobbs of Oakdale; two granddaughters, Amanda Jones and her husband, Adam Jones, of Greensburg and Elizabeth "Betsy" Dobbs of Philadelphia; two stepgrandsons, Joseph Grippo and his wife, Robin Grippo, of Lancaster and James Grippo, also of Lancaster; and two great-grandchildren, Ella Grace Jones and Andrew Richard Jones, both of Greensburg. Numerous nieces, nephews, step-nieces and step-nephews also survive her.

A stepbrother, Howard Skelley, preceded her in death.

<B>STEIBEL</B> — There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Margaret Marie Steibel, who died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:50 a.m. Friday at the church.Arrangements are by <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, and information is also available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
