Vernon F. Waltman
Vernon Frances Waltman, 80, of Chicora died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday at his home.
He was born May 29, 1928, in Chicora, the son of the late Anthony Peter Waltman and the late Agnes Amanda Harmon Waltman.
He was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.
Vernon enjoyed hunting and all outdoor activities. He had a camp on the Clarion River and was a pilot who had his own airport.
He also was a member of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department.
He had a sparkling personality and gave generously to his friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
He was the former owner of the Waltman Furniture Store.
Surviving are his wife, Karen (Bastress) Waltman of Chicora; a daughter, Terri and Robbi Johnson of Richboro, and their children, Jennifer, Daniel and Christopher; four sons: Steve and Rita Waltman of Chesterfield, Mo., and their children, Morgan and Brandon; Vernon and Gwen Waltman of Austin, Texas, and their children, Sean, Matthew and Connor; Frank and Beverly Waltman of Chicora and their children, Erin Kelmerieit, Kristin and Ryan; and John and Luz Graham of Chicora and their children, David and Mark; and a sister, Jean Rocks of McLean, Va.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn M. Waltman, whom he married, Nov. 15, 1949, and who died July 3, 2003; and his brother, Jay Waltman.
