Mildred L. 'Mid' Botz
Mildred L. "Mid" Botz, 90, of Parker died late Monday afternoon at Clarion Hospital following an illness.
Born on June 22, 1918, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Herbert and Edna M. Goodale Gearhart.
Mrs. Botz was a longtime, faithful member of the Parker United Methodist Church, and as long as her health permitted, she was an active member of the United Methodist Women of the Church.
"Mid" was employed 28 years as food service director for the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District, serving in all food service capacities before being named director.
She is survived by a son, retired longtime head basketball coach of the A-C Valley School District, Ronald "Ron" Botz and his wife, Judie, of Parker; three granddaughters and their husbands, Paula and Dan Wetzel of Foxburg, Ronda and Joe Futcher of Knoxville, Tenn., and Leah and Rodney Hopkins of Sandy Hook, Va.; seven great-grandchildren, Logan and Halee Wetzel, Marisa, Maraya, and Maddee Futcher, and Tyler and Alyssa Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Botz, who died July 18, 1973; a granddaughter, Madison Futcher; a sister, Ruth Mong; and a brother, Larry Gearhart.
<B>BOTZ — </B>Friends of Mildred L. "Mid" Botz, who died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Wayne St, Parker.Funeral and committal services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Perryville Cemetery, near Parker.
