George G. Schomaker
George G. Schomaker, 77, of 188 Penny Lane, Templeton, died Friday at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo.
Born Aug. 1, 1931 in Cranberry Township, he was the son of William K. and Della McClay Schomaker.
In addition to Ruth Musgrave, he is survived by a niece, Ann Wise of Zelienople, and a nephew, William Schomaker of Harmony.
George served in the Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954, during which time he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
He graduated from Evans City High School in 1950. He attended Thiel College after his service in the military.
George was an avid boater and spent a great deal of time on the Allegheny River.
He was a pioneer and prominent voice in the formation of the natural health movement in the Butler area during the 1980s and is still known and loved by many. He owned and operated Nature's Gate in Butler and then in Prospect from 1990 to 2002.
He was a member of the Tidal Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Schomaker.
