7:40 p.m. Monday — Margaretta Ashkey, 24, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Hansen Avenue. Ash-key also was cited for careless driving.9:25 p.m. Sunday — Someone broke into a minivan and a pickup truck parked at the Regal Cinema in Moraine Pointe Plaza.3:01 p.m. Friday — A mechanical problem was blamed for a one-vehicle crash that hurt a teen driver in the Auto Zone parking lot on Route 356.Charles Shirley, 17, of Slippery Rock told police his accelerator stuck when he turned the wheel of his 1987 Ford Bronco, causing the vehicle to roll onto its roof. Shirley suffered minor injuries. Police checked the throttle under the hood and found it was stuck.2:30 p.m. Friday — Cary Hogan, 48, of Butler is accused of shoplifting 18 items at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Hogan faces a charge for retail theft.

Sunday — Someone on Saturday or Sunday stole keys and a cell phone from a car at a Sunset Drive home in Center Township.

9:14 a.m. Jan. 17 — Douglas R. Seitam, 70, of Freeport was hurt when he lost control of his pickup and crashed into a guardrail, causing the truck to roll onto its roof on snow-covered Route 128 in South Buffalo Township.Seitam, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with moderate injuries. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
