8:10 p.m. Friday — John P. Elis Jr., 39, of Pittsburgh was charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly slapped Tamala Harris of Butler during an argument at her North Bluff Street apartment.2:58 a.m. Friday — Jeremy James Whittington, 31, of Butler was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant from Butler County after police were called to his West North Street residence about a possible overdose. They allegedly discovered a syringe and a stamp bag of heroin in his pockets. Whittington is in the county jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.3 p.m. Wednesday — An unknown vehicle struck a car owned by Tangee R. Gibson of Butler while it was parked along Wilson Avenue near West Brady Street, then left.
8:22 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Ruth E. Nestorek, 60, of New Castle crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Nestorek and passenger Ryan Trimble, Jr., 19, of New Castle each suffered minor injuries. Nestorek was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.8:53 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Braden D. Saeler, 17, of Butler and a car driven by Christina L. Irwin, 26, of Butler collided on Route 38 near Patten Lane in Summit Township. Saeler, Irwin and a 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old girl in Irwin's car, each suffered minor injuries. Saeler was cited for driving on roads laned for traffic.11 a.m. Jan. 17 — Someone riding an ATVshot a golden retriever belonging to John Paul Campbell of Winfield Township with buck shot along Reimer Road in Winfield Township, then fled. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.
10:50 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Larry G. Lillibridge, 51, of Ellwood City and a car driven by Donna Minteer, 77, of New Castle collided at the intersection of Route 65 and Harmony Baptist Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Lillibridge and Minteer each suffered minor injuries. Lillibridge was cited for following too closely.
Jan. 11 — A purse owned by Donna Miller, 57, of Mercer was left on a bench at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township between Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 and several items were removed. Anyone with information should call police at 724-662-6162.
