George W. Datt, 86, of Valencia died Monday at his home.

Born May 11, 1922, in Valencia, he was the son of the late William L. and Louise B. Doney Datt.

Mr. Datt retired in 1987 from the North Pittsburgh Telephone Co., where he had been supervisor of installation and repair.

He was a member of the International Telephone Pioneers Association and was a life member of the Valencia United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Sara Rodgers of Sorrento, Fla., and Sue Goswick of New Castle; two sons, George W. Datt Jr. and John T. Datt, both of Valencia; and four grandchildren, Eric Wickfield and Adam, Jessica and Matthew Goswick.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann (Barber) Datt, who died Aug. 20, 1999.

Datt, who died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Valencia United Methodist Church, 66 Almira St., Valencia, with his pastor, the Rev. Robert Martin, officiating. Burial will be in the Mt.
