Jon A. DeVore

Jon A. DeVore, 52, of Chicora died at 4:35 p.m. Friday at ACMH Hospital after a lingering illness.

Born March 18, 1956, he was the son of the late Maynard and Marylin LaShure DeVore.

Jon worked 32 years for National Fuel in Chicora.

He was a life member for 32 years and was very active in the Sugarcreek Township Volunteer Fire Department.

He coached for the Karns City Girls' Softball Team and was a leader for Boy Scout Troop 673 of Cowansville for more than 10 years.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Wodlow DeVore, whom he married May 14, 1977; two daughters, Amy Bender and her husband, Craig, of Butler and Stephanie DeVore and her fiancé, Michael Barrett, of Chicora; a son, James DeVore of Chicora; a grandson, Zackary Barrett; a step-grandson, Leyland Bender; a sister, Sheila Brocious and her husband, Gerald; and three brothers, Raymond DeVore and his wife, Susan, of Endeavor, Mark DeVore of Leeper and Gael DeVore of Titusville.

<B>DeVORE</B> — Friends of Jon A. DeVore, who died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Steighner funeral home</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main streets, Chicora. A blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Bonafed, pastor of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church of Bradys Bend, officiating.
