Sunday — Someone between 7 and 10 a.m. stole a snow shovel from a Cherokee Drive home in Center Township.Butler Police4:14 p.m. Tuesday — Cars driven by Evan Wiles, 20, of East Brady,Clarion County, and Nicole Chevront, 24, of Butler collided on West Cunningham Street. Chevront suffered minor injuries.1:34 p.m. Sunday — A Lehigh County man is accused of sneaking into a convenience store office and stealing a wallet from an employee's purse.The theft was caught on surveillance video at the A-Plus/Sunoco on East Jefferson Street, according to a police report.Officers later confronted the suspect, Jeffrey Alan Smith, 37, of Allentown, who initially denied taking the wallet. But when informed he was caught via video red-handed, police said, he admitted to the crime.He told police he threw the wallet out a car window near the Clearview Mall in Center. The police report noted that the wallet has not been found.
Tuesday — An unknown thief or thieves Monday or Tuesday stole equipment worth at least $43,100 at a construction company on Lindsay Road at Interstate 70.Taken was a $34,000 device used to measure highway surfaces, police said. Also stolen was a 12-foot Haulmark Trailer and a red, Kawasaki all-terrain vehicle, each valued at $4,000.Additionally, a Honda generator and a dampener were stolen. Several other trailers in the company lot were broken into, police noted.Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-452-5600.
4 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Anthony Lombardo II, 50, of Buffalo, N.Y., crashed and rolled over on the median of Interstate 79 in Springfield Township. Police said Lombardo was cited for a lane violation.9:04 a.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Kay L. Morrison, 57, of New Castle and a car driven by Chad Poole, 26, of Volant collided on snow-covered Route 208 near Brent Road in Springfield Township. Both drivers suffered minor injuries. Police said Morrison was cited for driving too fast for conditions.1:18 p.m. Sunday — An SUV driven by Samantha L. Stahl, 24, of Dormont, Allegheny County, and a car driven by Jacque Parquette, 28, of Grove City collided on Route 58 near Highpoint Drive in Pine Township. Police said Stahl, who was not wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries, was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
