Koester

Cora Margaret Morrow Koester, 85, of 711 W. Liberty Road, Slippery Rock, died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday at Grove Manor in Grove City.

Born Jan. 19, 1923, in West Liberty, she was the daughter of Willis Leroy Morrow and Clara Melissa Smith.

She was a homemaker who retired in 1985 from Slippery Rock University, where she worked in the custodial department for more than 20 years. She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed the outdoors by camping, traveling, fishing and gardening. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She married Henry Orville Koester Aug. 2, 1939, and he preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1986.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Margaret Ann) Kaufman of Zelienople, and Catherine Mary Davis of Butler; a son Thomas "Hank" Henry Koester of Slippery Rock; three grandchildren, William Henry and his wife, Terri Kaufman, Daniel Kent Davis, and Diane Lynn and her husband Michael Stiffy; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.

<B>KEESTER</B> — Friends of Cora Margaret Morrow Koester, who died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis of West Liberty United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in West Liberty Cemetery.
