Joshua T. "Sunshine" Sullivan, 28, of Jefferson Township died Thursday.

Born Sept. 13, 1980, in Troy, Mich., he was the beloved son of Diane E. Sullivan of Jefferson Township and the late Thomas M. Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan was a 1999 graduate of Knoch High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a dual degree in math and physics.

He was an Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop 51 in Saxonburg and served as a camp counselor during high school summers at Camp Bucoco near Slippery Rock.

He had an affinity and passion for music. He not only played first violin for the Knoch High School Orchestra, but also played guitar for his rock band, Day Zero. He was uniquely talented to play bagpipes, drums, piano and any instrument his grandmother, Audrey Gray of Greensburg, would bring home from every corner of the world. For the past 10 years, Mr. Sullivan has been a part-time, all-around staff member at Conley's Resort, serving as a cook, lifeguard and maintenance person.

Mr. Sullivan is survived by his mother; a brother, Benjamin Sullivan of Plum; his maternal grandparents, Audrey and Richard Gray of Greensburg, and paternal grandfather Robert W. Sullivan of North Carolina; an aunt, Wendy Kowalski of Irwin; uncles Raymond Dripps of North Carolina, Robert Sullivan of Maine and Bill Sullivan of Harrisburg; cousins Meghan and Stephen Kowalski, Russell Dripps, Bill, Sandy, Steve and Katherine Sullivan and the late Raymond Dripps. He also is survived by his Jack Russell terrier, Arwen.

He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandmother Emma Sullivan; and uncle Dana Dripps.

<B>SULLIVAN</B> — There will be no visitation for Joshua T. "Sunshine" Sullivan, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008. Friends are invited to a memorial service at 1 p.m. Dec. 20 at Thorn Creek Methodist Church, 142 Rockdale Road in Butler.Arrangements are being made by <B>PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME</B>, 700 Linden Ave., East Pittsburgh.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1101 Western Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15233; or to the Boy Scouts of America, Greater Pittsburgh Council, 1275 Bedford Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15219."Please don't take my sunshine away."
