Henry Frye, 88, of Raytown, Mo., formerly of Leavenworth, Kan., died Sept. 15 at his home.

Mr. Frye was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Punxsutawney, the son of Alfred M. and Margaret M. McGrady Frye.

Henry retired from the Army after 30 years and then worked at the Kansas State Penitentiary.

He married Marion L. Larsen Frye, May 6, 1950.

Henry was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed astronomy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, July 19, 1992; his stepmother, Emma F. McGrady Frye; three sisters; and four brothers.

Henry is survived by his daughter, Jayne A. Frye of Raytown, Mo.; a son, James A Frye and his wife, Rebecca, of Billings, Mont.; a grandson, Paul M. Frye; granddaughters, Amy M. and Lisa M. Frye; and five sisters, Dolores Neigh, Shirley Anderson, Bernadette DeAngelo, Patricia Weiland and Stella Eppinger, all of Butler.
