2:33 p.m. Friday — A minivan driven by Julie Rodgers, 41, of Butler struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle driven by Robin Spangler, 31, of Renfrew.1:50 p.m. Friday — Gerard Slupe, 40, of Fenelton is accused of shoplifting at the Wal-Mart store in Butler Commons. Slupe is charged with retail theft.Friday — Police filed felony theft and other charges against Beverly Kay Jones, 40, of New Castle, who is accused of using another woman's identity to make three withdrawals from the NexTier Bank in Moraine Pointe Plaza.The withdrawals between Sept. 18 and 24, according to court documents, totaled $2,350.Jones is charged with three counts each of identity theft, forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.

12:20 p.m. Monday — Two 17-year-old boys, both from Philadelphia, escaped from the Summit Academy reform school in Summit Township. The boys were later caught on Bonniebrook Road, and returned to the facility.

8:25 a.m. Dec. 22 — A pickup truck driven by Robert Berger Jr., 54, of Levittown, Bucks County, crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its side along Interstate 80 in Allegheny Township, Butler County. Berger was treated at Clarion Hospital for minor injuries.State Police, Kittanning4 p.m. Sunday — A 50-year-old Templeton man is accused of breaking into a Cowanshannock Township home occupied by his wife and trying to drag her from the residence.The woman managed to pepper spray the suspect, Richard Ellwood Myers Jr., who then became involved in a fight with another person, who police did not identify, at the home.Myers left but was later arrested. He was arraigned on charges of burglary, trespass and two counts of simple assault, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000 bond.Saturday — Judy Stockdale, no age given, of Templeton was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 in Manor Township.

10 a.m. Monday — Acar driven by Eric Feingold, 20, of Pittsburgh struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township.Monday — Someone cut off a padlock to storage unit at Anderson Self Storage on Route 58 in Pine Township. The bid to break into the storage unit leased to an 82-year-old Grove City woman failed. The attempted burglary occurred between Dec. 5 and Monday.Wednesday — An unknown thief between 2 and 2:30 p.m. stole tools from the storage box in the bed of a pickup truck at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township. The stolen property, owned by David Firek of Slippery Rock, is valued at $880.Dec. 30 — A bottle of prescription pills was stolen from a counter at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Pine Township.

Monday — Police reported they are investigating a theft and fraud case in which an unknown suspect last month accessed a 41-year-old Slippery Rock man's bank debit card and made several illegal transactions. The unauthorized purchases were made at department stores and restaurants in Texas.
