Dorothy L. Dunn, 90, of Clay Township went to be with the Lord at 3:30 a.m. Friday after a brief illness.

Born in Brady Township, Oct. 18, 1918, she was the daughter of James Henry Martsolf and Mary Elizabeth McBride Martsolf.

Her husband, J. Wayne Dunn, who she married Aug. 26, 1939, died June 10, 2005.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was an accomplished pianist. She played for the Butler County Christian Endeavor's monthly hymn sings at churches in the area. She was employed by the Harvey C. Trader Music Store of Butler for a number of years demonstrating pianos. She also provided background musical accompaniment in the early years of the Paul Gaudino Exercise Program on many local television channels.

She enjoyed doing counted cross stitch and working the daily puzzles.

Following her husband's retirement in the late 1970s, they enjoyed traveling and spent their winters in Florida, where they had a home in Dundee. For the past few years, she enjoyed spending her winters in Tucson, where she became active with the Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Dunn was a Protestant.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald W. Dunn of Grove City and William M. Dunn and his wife, Diana, of Woodbridge, Va.; two daughters, Susan K. Dunn of Tucson, Ariz., and Darlene and her husband, Herbert Kress, of Centennial, Colo.; and a daughter-in-law, Violet Dunn of Canton, Ohio. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; a grandson, Jeremy Kress; a brother; and three sisters.

Dunn, who died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Slippery Rock Cemetery, Slippery Rock Township.
