Eickmann 60th anniversary
Guenter and Selma Eickmann of Grove City celebrated 60 years of marriage with a dinner for family and friends at the Springfield Grille in Mercer.
Eickmann married the former Selma Brenner on Dec. 4, 1948, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bergkamen, Nordrhein-Westphalia, Germany. The Rev. Domke officiated.
They have one daughter, Birgit Rouse of Boston.
They also have two grandchildren.
Eickmann is retired from Pine Instruments. He also worked at Fibertest and Satec in research, design and development. He belonged to a brass band, a homing pigeon club and a socker league, all in Germany. He also performed with a barber shop quartet.
Mrs. Eickmann is a homemaker and was employed for a short time by Palmer and Smith. In Germany she was involved in athletic activities. She enjoys gardening, the outdoors, card clubs, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling and coffee klatches. She volunteered at Grove City Medical Center for many years.
The Eickmanns belong to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where Mr. Eickmann was a deacon, a trustee and a choir member. Mrs. Eickmann also served on church committees.
