James P. Capots, 78, of Canonsburg, formerly of Beaver Falls, died Oct. 4 in Allegheny General Hospital.

Born Aug. 1, 1930, in Koppel, he was the son of the late James and Mary Jane Crangi Capots.

He had been a purchasing manager for the former Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products Co. for more than 30 years. At the time of his retirement, he was the senior buyer for the Calsonic Corp. of North America in Shelbyville, Tenn.

He was a member of St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church in Upper St. Clair.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.

Jim was very dedicated to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Johnston Capots, who died Sept. 14, 2004, and a brother, Patrick Michael Capots.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Erin Capots of Big Beaver; two daughters and a son-in-law, Polly Capots of Canonsburg and Jackie and Greg Hoenie of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Alex Hoenie, Elias Johnson and Sarah Hoenie; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gerry and Anthony Codespote of College Hill and Theresa and Thomas Zinkham of Harmony.

<B>CAPOTS</B> — A Mass of Christian burial for James P. Capots, who died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, was held Oct. 7 at St. Philomena Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Steve Kresak, parochial vicar of St. Louise de Marillac, as celebrant. Interment followed in St. Mary Cemetery, Chippewa Township.The Beaver County Special Unit conducted military rites at the cemetery, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Louise De Marillac Catholic Church, 312 McMurray Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.
