8:10 p.m. Sunday — Bruce Cornetti, 23, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a hit-and-run crash at Old Plank and Litman roads.Police said Cornetti also was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and other traffic violations.
6:30 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Pope Richard, 74, of Pittsburgh struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.6:40 p.m. Monday — Troopers arrested a Butler area man suspected in a sexual case involving a young girl in Armstrong County.Douglas Walbert, 47, was picked up on a warrant at a Taft Street home in Butler. Walbert is accused in the warrant of assaulting the girl beginning in 1993 when she was 6 years old. The alleged assaults continued until 1997, police said.District Judge Samuel Goldstrohm of Rural Valley, Armstrong County, arraigned the defendant on charges of aggravated sexual assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors and child endangerment.Walbert then was placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $25,000 bail.6:40 p.m. Monday — Cars driven by Todd S. Ryan, 38, of Oakland Township and Julie Ann Marshall, 35, of Donegal Township collided at Route 68 and 422 in Summit Township.
7:27 p.m. Monday — A pair of robbers stole a purse out of the hands of a 53-year-old woman at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township and drove off in a red or maroon minivan with a Pennsylvania license plate.The Clarion County woman was walking toward her car in the parking lot when the purse snatchers struck, police said.
