John Charles Wahl

John Charles Wahl, 62, of Butler, formerly of Harmony Junction, died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 24, 1946, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Herman J. and Mary Louise (Boyer) Wahl.

Mr. Wahl was a 1965 graduate of Seneca Valley High School.

He drove a school bus for AJ Myers, and he worked for numerous tow truck companies, including Sarver Towing.

Mr. Wahl volunteered with the General Butler Vagabonds. He enjoyed bingo, going to casinos, search and seek word books, working on cars and especially spending time with children. He was an avid Steelers fan.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, M. Katherine (Dumencic) Wahl, who he married Sept. 27, 1968, in Zelienople; three daughters, Tricia Trubic and her husband, Stephen, of Penn Township, Kathleen Wahl and Bub Rasely of Butler, and Amy Iman and her husband, Joseph, of Butler; two sisters, Martha Sherman and her husband, Roger, of Butler and Edna Burr and her husband, Frank, of Callery; a brother, Donald Wahl and his wife, Judy, of Zelienople; six grandchildren, Kristen, Athena, Ashleigh, Courtney, John Paul and Hayden; and two great-grandchildren, Dalton and Colten, who just started saying "bop-bop."

He also is survived by his mother-in-law, Martha Dumencic; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; numerous foster children; foster grandchildren; foster great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth.

<B>WAHL</B> — Friends of John Charles Wahl, who died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
