James V. "Jim" McCluskey, 83, of East Brady died Saturday at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo.

Born Sept. 22, 1925, in Perry Township, Armstrong County, he was the son of Robert E. McCluskey and Julia A. Pisarchick.

He served in the 334th Bomb Squadron, 95th Bomb Group, U.S. Army, during World War II and campaigned in Normandy, The Rhineland, Northern France and the Ardennes. He was the recipient of a EASE Theater Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and a WWII Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.

He worked as a mechanic for Union Carbide, Kittanning, for 35 years.

He was a member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady. He also was a member of American Legion Post 488 of Bradys Bend and VFW Post 7132 in Rimersburg.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa M. "Terri" (McLaughlin) McCluskey of East Brady, who he married Feb. 2, 1952; two sons, James P. McCluskey and his wife, Joy, of East Brady and Perry M. McCluskey of East Brady; a sister, Rozella A. Groves of Butler; and two grandsons, Lucas J. McCluskey of East Brady and Corey M. McCluskey of East Brady. Also surviving are two "special" nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

<B>MCCLUSKEY</B> — Visitation for James V. "Jim" McCluskey, who died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, will be private for the family. A committal service and military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Eusebius Cemetery, Brady Township, Clarion County. The public is invited to attend.Memorials may be made to the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 129, East Brady, PA 16028; or the East Brady Area Ambulance Service P.O. Box 325, East Brady, PA 16028.
