9:12 p.m. Sunday — An unidentified pickup truck traveled through the yard at 215 Oakland Ave. in Meridian. Witnesses told police the driver did not stop as the white or light-colored truck, with its front bumper hanging down, took off toward South Eberhart Road.

Tuesday — A.30-30-caliber lever-action rifle was stolen from a vehicle at the County Line Bar on County Line Road in Clearfield Township. The theft occurred between 6 and 6:40 p.m.6:25 p.m. Monday — An unidentified vehicle sideswiped a car on Route 68 near Old Route 68 in Forward Township, and did not stop. The accident forced John Madaus, 83, of Zelienople to swerve his car off the road.4:25 p.m. Monday — Robert G. Montgomery, 54, of Pittsburgh was cited for driving with a suspended license after he hit a deer that had run onto Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.12:30 p.m. Monday — A tractor-trailer struck a traffic pole and sign at Mercer Road and Route 8 in Center Township. The unknown driver did not stop the rig.Monday — Someone stole $500 in coins after breaking into the Ekastown Road home of Sharon Wissinger in Clinton Township. Police said the burglar pried open the basement door to get inside the house between 5:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.Monday — A safe was reported stolen between Dec. 1 and Monday from the Rolling Lane home of Terry Major in Connoquenessing Township.Monday — An unknown thief between 2:30 and 5 p.m. took $125 from a locker at 2040 New Castle Road in Muddy Creek Township.5:30 p.m. Saturday — Two cars collided on I-79 in Jackson Township. Police did not identify the drivers.4:34 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Brianna J. Winters, 20, of Butler hit an embankment and flipped onto its side along ice-covered Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. Police said Winters was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:15 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck crashed and flipped onto its roof on I-79 in Jackson Township. Police did not identify the driver.3:54 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Megan M. Koser, 20, of Sarver crashed into a tree along Glenwood Way in Center Township. Police said Koser faces a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.3:53 p.m. Saturday — A pickup driven by Nick Wdovin, 78, of Penn Township struck a utility pole along Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. Police said Wdovin faces a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.3:40 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Lori R. Lang, 51, of Saxonburg struck a house after hitting an icy patch and sliding off Bonniebrook Road in Jefferson Township. William Wallace's home at 171 Bonniebrook Road sustained damage to the garage and foundation.12:55 a.m. Sunday — Gerald A. Jewett, 43, of Kenduskeag, Maine, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Fourth Avenue and New Castle Street in Butler.Sunday — Timothy James Wirtz, 21, of Valencia was arrested after police were called to a Slippery Rock Township apartment for a report of an unknown man inside.Police said the investigation determined Wirtz broke into the Ivy Lane apartment of an Indiana, Pa., woman between 2 and 6 a.m., ate food there and went to sleep on the couch.A police report noted that the apartment's door and striker plate were damaged.Wirtz was arraigned on charges of trespass and criminal mischief, and placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.5 p.m. Saturday — A pickup driven by Damon Svoboda, 42, of Prospect and a car driven by Virginia M. Foster, 29, of Harrisville collided at Routes 8 and 108 in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Svoboda was cited for a stop/yield sign violation.3:51 p.m. Saturday — A pickup driven by Daniel Eberle, 28, and a car driven by Mary R. Green, 55, both of Butler, collided on snow- and ice-covered Route 68 just west of Buhl Bridge in Forward Township. Police said Eberle was cited for driving too fast for conditions.3:15 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Glenn A. Cummins, 44, of Hilliards crashed into an embankment on Meals Road in Washington Township.1:30 a.m. Saturday — Timothy Grosick, 37, of Evans City was arrested for DUI at Route 422 and North Road in Franklin Township. In addition to DUI, Grosick is charged with a lane violation.12:19 a.m. Saturday — Mitchell L. Shaffner, 47, of Eau Claire was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Higgins and Cemetery roads in VenangoTownship. Police said Shaffner was found apparently passed out behind the wheel of his still-running vehicle that was parked partially on the travel lane of Higgins Road.Thursday — Four 17-inch aluminum wheels with tires were stolen at Route 138 and Euclid School Road in Clay Township. The stolen property, owned by Christopher Harris of Butler, had been offered for sale when taken.1:59 a.m. Nov. 30 — John F. Sahr, 38, of Pittsburgh was arrested for DUI on Muddy Creek Road in Brady Township. In addition to DUI, Sahr is charged with driving on the wrong side of the road.Nov. 30 — A propane heater and wood burner along with copper wire were stolen in a burglary at an unlocked house on Mount Union Road in Worth Township.Police suspect three unknown suspects — two males and a female — walked through the woods to the house and removed the items owned by BillLangell of Portersville. Police said a passer-by scared off the thieves, who had taken the stolen property through the woods. The suspects left in a brown Chevrolet S-10 pickup.Nov. 29 — An unknown thief forged more than $2,700 in checks after stealing a checkbook from a Mitchell Hill Road home in Summit Township.

Saturday — A bottle of Vicodin and $170 inside an envelope under a television set were stolen in a break-in at the Stone Avenue home of Tracey Lynn Neal in Templeton. The burglary occurred between 5 p.m. Friday and just after midnight Saturday.

Tuesday — Police continue to investigate the theft Sunday morning of a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban from an Ekastown Road home. Attached to the vehicle was a utility trailer hauling an all-terrain vehicle.A satellite tracking system led police to the Suburban, which was recovered on Altar Road; however, the green, 1996 Polaris ATV was gone.Police said they believe the thief or thieves transferred the ATV into a pickup and drove away.Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-295-9500.

10:50 a.m. Monday — A tractor-trailer driven by Richard Grande, 52, of Sharon struck a bridge guardrail on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township.State Police, PunxsutawneyThe state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported that the Home Association of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6648 in Freeport was cited for three violations of the state Liquor Code.The BLCE said the post is accused of permitting gambling, improperly admitting members and failing to maintain records. The alleged violation occurred between March 29 and Sept. 17.
