Thomas S. Finucane

Thomas S. Finucane, 65, of Waynesburg, formerly of Sharon, died at 7:10 a.m. Saturday at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Waynesburg following a long, hard battle with leukemia.

Born Oct. 15, 1943, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of Edmund S. and Margaret (Owen) Finucane. Mr. Finucane lived in Waynesburg for the past 12 years.

He was a veteran of U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a nursing home administrator at the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Waynesburg for 10 years, retiring in 2006.

Surviving are his companion Nora Lipka of Waynesburg; two daughters, Megan Linville and her husband, Mark, of Ellwood City, and Mary Kay Finucane of Pittsburgh; a stepdaughter, Shannon Roberson and her husband, Christian, of Charleston, S.C.; a stepson, Harold Lipka and his wife, Beth, of Summerville, S.C.; five grandchildren, Sophia Linville, Elena Linville, Benjamin Lipka, William Lipka and Sarah Lipka; a brother, Edmund O. Finucane; and a niece and a nephew.

His wife, Cherlyn Finucane, died in 1994.

<B>FINUCANE</B>— There will be a greeting of friends of Thomas S. Finucane, who died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the <B>Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home</B>, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg. A memorial service with the Rev. John Phipps officiating will be at 11 a.m. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.Information is online at www.milliken-throckmortonfh.com.
