Ellsworth C. McCandless Jr., 68, of Lyndora died Sunday at his home.

He was born March 10, 1940, in Butler, the son of the late Ellsworth C. McCandless Sr. and Edna M. Timblin McCandless.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he helped with the school's food program.

He enjoyed woodworking. He had worked at the Myoma Recycling Plant in Callery.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth E. McCandless, whom he married May 26, 1986; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Charlene (Eric) Pint of Butler; two sons, Larry Bergbigler of Lyndora and Dale Bergbigler of Slippery Rock; two grandchildren; four sisters, Sally Criley of Fenelton, Joan Jacobson of Butler, Ella Mae Shoentag of Saxonburg and Valjean Ross of Butler; a brother, Jim McCandless of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>MCCANDLESS</B> — Friends of Ellsworth C. McCandless Jr., who died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, Butler. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with his pastor, the Rev. David Maitland, officiating.
