Patty A. Thompson
Patty A. Thompson, 49, of Bruin passed away Sunday at her home with her cherished family at her side. Her passing followed an illness of several months.
Born in Eldorado, Parker Township, Jan. 13, 1959, she was the daughter of G. Louise Edwards Anderson and Paul Anderson.
She was a 1977 graduate of the Karns City School District and later was employed by the district for eight years. Patty also worked at the Tee-Shirt Factory at Bradys Bend for several years.
She was a member of Bruin United Methodist Church.
She had a great talent in the art of crafting, but her sewing skills were known by many. She had created more than 70 individually styled aprons for friends in her workplaces and for personal friends.
As it became evident her illness would overtake her life here on earth, she began a series of letters of remembrance and thank you to her husband, children, grandchild, other relatives and to her host of caregivers of community friends. These letters helped prepare Patty for life eternal with God and to be of comfort to those left behind on their earthly journey.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Rickie J. Thompson, who she married July 22, 1978; her cherished children, Kayla Smith and her husband, Ryan, of Parker and Joe Thompson and his wife, Natalie, of Erie; her loved granddaughter, Meredith Thompson of Erie; her mother of Bruin and her father of Rimersburg; three brothers, Paul (Cindy) Anderson and Kenneth (Debbie) Anderson, both of Karns City, and Norman Anderson of Shelocta; her mother-in-law: Esther (Mike) Hemmerling of Eau Claire; her father-in-law: Bernard "Whitey" Thompson of Bruin; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
