SAXONBURG — The Christmas spirit will march, stroll, and shine in Saxonburg Friday.
This is the 10th year for the borough's annual Christmas Light Up Night sponsored by the Saxonburg Business Association.
Events begin at 7 p.m. with a parade, including the Knoch High School band, and continue to 9 p.m. with strolling carolers, Santa Claus, a live nativity by Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church and musical performances.
New this year will be music by Lion and Thistle Highlanders bagpipers.
Three wise men and their camels will make their annual appearance.
Also during the evening, downtown shops will be open and Main Street will be decorated with luminaria.
Santa will be at Saxonburg Area Library.

CLARION— Butler County Community College and Clarion University Wednesday signed an agreement that allows all credits earned in a two-year BC3 degree to be transferred to Clarion University toward the completion of a four-year degree."This agreement closely aligns our academic programs," said Clarion University President Joseph Grunenwald in a statement fromClarion. "It will allow students to move easily and smoothly from one institution to the other and know what steps are necessary to complete the move.""What we are about to sign isn't normal," Nick Neupauer, BC3 president, said in the statement. "The western side of Pennsylvania finds ways to work better together. A lot of work went into this agreement. I am proud we will be producing high quality students together."
