Clara Mary Fox
Clara Mary Fox, 91, of 345 Centreville Pike, Slippery Rock, in Slippery Rock Township, died Wednesday evening at the Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville.
Born June 23, 1917, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Christopher Anthony Kerner and Ida Adaline (Brun) Kerner.
She married Robert Raymond Fox on June 13, 1936. He died May 13, 2000.
She was a homemaker. During World War II, she worked as a metal spinner for E.H. Schwab Metal Spinning in Pittsburgh.
She belonged to the Slippery Rock American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Slippery Rock Senior Citizens Center.
She was a member of the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock and belonged to the Christian Mothers of the church.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Clara and Henry Janikowski of Slippery Rock; a brother, John Kerner of North Braddock; two sisters, Ida Mdzick of Butler and Mary Ellen Nolan of Pittsburgh; and five grandchildren, Dolores Johnston and her husband, Roy, of Houston, Roberta Fox of Titusville, Dawna D'Amico and her husband, Edward of Slippery Rock, Timothy Janikowski and his wife, Paula, of Pittsburgh and Michael Janikowski and his wife, Karen, of North Huntington. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
<B>FOX</B> — Visitation for Clara Mary Fox, who died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Slippery Rock, with the Rev. Matthew McClain of St. Peter as celebrant. Interment will be at the Slippery Rock Cemetery.
