11:20 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Richard Palace, 75, of Center Township hit a utility pole at Morton and Fairview avenues. Police said Palace was cited for careless driving.10:35 p.m. Thursday — Marlene Collins, 45, of Summit Township was arrested for drunken driving following a hit-and-run crash on Zeigler Avenue near Short Street.Police said Collins drove off after hitting a parked car owned by Christopher Hudson of Oakland Township. The crash pushed Hudson's car into a second parked car, owned by Tricia Smith of Butler.Officers found Collins in her car, apparently disabled from the accident, about 2 miles from the crash site. Apolice report said the suspect's blood-alcohol level was 0.19 percent, more than double the 0.08 percent legal limit under state law.Police said in addition to driving under the influence, Collins faces hit-and-run charges.6:17 p.m. Tuesday — Asport utility vehicle driven by Kathy Burkett, 44, of Butler Township struck a van parked on West Penn Street. Police said Burkett was cited for careless driving. Richard Trimbur of Center Township owns the van.

Friday — Krista Bradley, 29, of Butler was arrested at her Old Plank Road home on fugitive warrants from Clay County, Fla. Police noted Bradley was wanted on five warrants for charges, including grand theft, schemes to defraud and bad checks. She was placed in the Butler County Prison and is awaiting extradition to Florida.

9:05 a.m. Sunday — Michael Silvestri, 22, of Ellwood City, Lawrence County, swerved his car to avoid a deer and crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.7:32 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Robert Lee Vollmer, 25, of Renfrew struck a deer and then veered into a utility pole along Winfield Road near Keck Road in Jefferson Township.5:15 p.m. Saturday — Barbara Vinkler, 63, of Adamsburg, Westmoreland County, reported an unidentified white Chevrolet truck sideswiped her car on I-79 in Jackson Township. The unknown driver of the truck did not stop.3:15 a.m. Saturday — Charles R. Hoffman, 29, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at Route 356 and Fourth Avenue in Butler.3:10 a.m. Saturday — A hit-and-run driver struck a guardrail on Upper Harmony Road near Route 528 in Connoquenessing Township. The unknown driver fled the crash site, leaving behind a 1991 Chevrolet truck with the Pennsylvania license plate YSV9019.1:52 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Melissa A. Elk, 47, of Parker struck a utility pole along Route 58 in Allegheny Township.1:15 p.m. Friday — Samuel D. Gourley, 51, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, was hurt when his pickup hit a tree along snow-covered Bear Creek Road in Winfield Township. Police said Gourley, who was treated for moderate injuries at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.12:30 p.m. Friday — A 12-year-old boy is accused of bringing a small, lock-blade knife into Slippery Rock Middle School in Slippery Rock Township. Police said the knife was discovered after it fell out of his pocket during gym glass.The boy, who police did not identify, was charged in juvenile court with possession of a weapon on school property.11:55 a.m. Friday — A van driven by Stacy N. Corace, 25, of Butler crashed into a tree along snow-covered Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township. Police said Corace was cited for driving too fast for conditions.11:30 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Christine Gaughan, 21, of Pittsburgh skidded on snow-covered Branchton Road near Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township and struck a parked car owned by Todd Reynolds of Oil City, Venango County.7:52 a.m. Friday — A car driven of Matthew James Shaffer, 21, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, struck a utility pole along Route 108 near Christy Lane in Slippery Rock Township.7:20 a.m. Friday — A car driven by a 16-year-old Chicora girl struck an embankment after sliding off snow- and ice-covered Fairmont Road in Fairview Township.5 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Billy Bookhamer, 33, of Butler struck a tree at Minich and Elliot roads in Center Township. Police said Bookhamer was cited for a lane violation.10:55 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Raymond J. Sawyer, 20, of Butler struck a utility pole after sliding off snow-covered Hannahstown Road near Fisher Road in Jefferson Township. Police said Sawyer was cited for driving too fast for conditions.9:45 p.m. Thursday — The unknown driver of a white pickup did not stop after hitting the driver's side mirror of a car traveling on West Park Road in Slippery Rock Township. Leigh Ann Shields, 28, of Slippery Rock was driving the car, which also sustained a broken driver's side window in the crash.9 p.m. Thursday — Edward G. McCloskey, 63, of Andover, Ohio, was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car crashed into a guardrail on I-79 near West Park Road in Worth Township. McCloskey was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.Thursday — An unknown thief passed a counterfeit $20 bill at the Ponderosa Restaurant in the Clearview Mall, Center Township. Police noted this was the third recent report of counterfeit currency being passed at the mall.Authorities urged store employees to be even more vigilant of "funny money"during the holiday period and immediately report receiving any bogus bills.Wednesday — Nothing was reported taken in a burglary between 6:45 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. at the Grant Avenue home of Bobbie Sue Covert in East Butler. The unknown burglar apparently broke into the home through a rear basement door, which sustained about $20 in damage.8:30 p.m. Tuesday — Scott Michael Geibel, 48, of East Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 422 between New Castle Road and Route 8 in Butler Township.Nov. 15 — An elderly Center Township man was scammed out of $3,000 by an unknown thief.Police are investigating the case that began when the 89-year-old victim got a telephone call that claimed he had won $2.5 million. He was told that to collect the prize money, which had to be brought in from another country, he would have to pay a $3,000 tax charge.The man wired $3,000 through Western Union and never received anything in return.

9:25 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Theresa A. Murdock, 59, of Rimersburg and a pickup driven by Alan W. Black, 61, of Worthington collided on snow-and ice-covered Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township. Police said Murdock, who suffered a minor injury, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.7:30 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Elizabeth A. Beck, 18, of Ford City struck a concrete bridge rail after sliding on an ice patch on Route 422 near Yellow DogRoad in West Franklin Township. Police said Beck, who was treated for minor injuries at ACMHHospital in Kittanning, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Saturday — An unknown thief overnight stole several items from two vehicles parked in the Super 8 motel parking lot on Route 208 in Springfield Township. Among the stolen items were tools, a computer, iPod and camera.Police noted that a large, brown "motor home type vehicle" was seen in the area within the time frame of the theft, between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 6:45 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.Saturday — Someone broke into a car parked along Route 208 in Springfield and stole a stereo, faceplate and speakers as well as a BF Goodrich spare tire. The unknown thief broke the driver's side window to get into the car owned by a Pittsburgh woman.The theft occurred between 1 and 11:30 a.m. The stolen property is valued at $1,300.
