Virginia Collins
Mrs. Virginia Collins, 91, of 1335 Route 588, Fombell, passed away unexpectedly at 11:20 a.m. Monday at her home.
Mrs. Collins was born July 20, 1917, in Ellwood City to the late Querino William "Bill" and Assunta "Susan" Salerno Condina.
Virginia graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937 and went on to work for Mellon Bank, in both Beaver Falls and Zelienople, as a bank teller for many years.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Golden Agers, the Mellon 25-Year Club, the BVM Wedding Ladies and had been a money counter for the Holy Redeemer and the St. Gregory bazaars.
Mrs. Collins enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crewel and embroidery.
Survivors include a sister, Joanne Contino McGrady of North Sewickley Township; a brother, Carl B. Zito of Ellwood City; two sisters-in- law, Rose Contino of Franklin Township and Mae Contino of Ellwood City; 16 nieces and nephews; 27 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 17 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, who died in 1963; three sisters, Rosalie Contino Boots, Elizabeth Contino Moshier and Mary G. Zito; and three brothers, B. Albert Contino, William Contino Jr. and James Zito.
<B>COLLINS</B> — Visitation for Virginia Collins, who died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Samuel Teolis Funeral Home</B>, Ellwood City. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Church with Father Joseph Dascenzo officiating.
