Irene W. Blum, 83, of Zelienople died Saturday at the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born July 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Meeder Wright.

Mrs. Blum was a 1943 graduate of Zelienople High School and was active in planning yearly class reunions.

She had worked at National Tube in Ellwood City and also at Sahlis Appliance Store and Zeigler Motors in Zelienople.

She volunteered for 10 years at Passavant Hospital and served on the Zelienople Citizens Advisory Committee.

A member of the English Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday school and Bible school, was a member of the Loyal Class and had been president of Lutheran Church Women.

She is survived by a sister, Zella Myers of Zelienopl, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Blum, who died April 18, 1997; and by a brother.
