NEW YORK — The New York Knicks traded Zach Randolph and Jamal Crawford in separate deals Friday, parting with their two top scorers to free up coveted salary-cap space for the summer of 2010.Crawford was sent to Golden State for forward Al Harrington. Hours later, Randolph was shipped to the Los Angeles Clippers along with reserve guard Mardy Collins for Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas.Knicks president Donnie Walsh has repeatedly said his goal was to get under the cap in time for a potentially sensational free-agent crop that could be headlined by LeBron James.

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Defending champion Tommy Armour III eagled the 18th hole at Spyglass Hill Friday en route to a 1-under 71, joining Arron Oberholser in a one-stroke lead after two rounds of the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational.Oberholser shot a 6-under 66 with seven birdies and one bogey — the day's low round — at Spyglass Hill. He and Armor were at 7-under 137.John Cook, who also played at Spyglass Hill and held a three-stroke lead after an opening-round 62 at Del Monte, had a 76 and was among five players at 138.

ISTANBUL, Turkey — President-elect Barack Obama made a personal appeal to bring the 2016 Summer Olympics to his home city of Chicago.Obama appeared in a 90-second taped video message played Friday by Chicago bid leaders to the general assembly of European Olympic Committees, the largest regional group in the Olympic movement.Chicago is competing against Madrid, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro, which were making presentations to the European body. The International Olympic Committee will vote on the host city Oct. 2 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco was back at work Friday, a day after being sent home before the Pittsburgh game for disciplinary reasons.Coach Marvin Lewis said the punishment fit the violation, and declined to go into details of the incident. Ocho Cinco was late for a team meeting Wednesday night, and then had a verbal altercation with a coach or coaches.
