Aleene M. Heist, 95, died Thursday at the St. Luke Lutheran Home in North Canton, Ohio.

Born in Butler, she had lived in Houston, Texas, and moved to North Canton 1994.

She was a 1935 graduate of the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. Aleene was a retired register nurse and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in North Canton.

Surviving are a stepsister and her husband, Paula and Joseph Lutz of Butler; 14 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Moone; and a brother, Edgar L. Heist.
