SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University volleyball team earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional for an unprecedented fourth consecutive season.

SRU(25-11) is the No. 6 seed and will face No. 3 seed Edinboro (26-8) at 2 p.m. Thursday at California (Pa.) University.

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury will miss tonight's game against Minnesota because of an undisclosed injury."It's not a major injury," coach Michel Therrien said Monday. "We just don't want to take a risk."Under rules enacted upon the recommendation of league general managers before this season, NHL teams are not required to disclose the nature of injuries.Fleury was hurt during the third period of Pittsburgh's 5-2 victory over Buffalo Saturday night but did not leave the game. He made 21 saves on 23 shots and is 8-3 with a 2.86 goals against average.Fleury will be replaced by Dany Sabourin, who has a 3-1 record and a 1.68 goals-against average.

NEW YORK — St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols won his second NL MVP award, powering past Philadelphia star Ryan Howard by a comfortable margin.Pujols hit .357 with 37 home runs and 116 RBI while playing with a sore right elbow. He was rewarded despite the Cardinals' fourth-place finish in the NL Central.Los Angeles outfielder Manny Ramirez and Milwaukee pitcher CC Sabathia also drew strong support after being traded by AL teams in July.

WASHINGTON — Federal regulators on Monday charged Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban with insider trading for allegedly using confidential information on a stock sale to avoid more than $750,000 in losses.Cuban disputed the Securities and Exchange Commission's allegations and said he would contest them.
