Weitzel

Richard A. Weitzel, 69, of Butler died at 7:22 p.m. Sunday at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Butler, the son of the late Arthur Weitzel and the late Mildred (Seaman) Weitzel.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of American Legion Post 243.

He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He retired after 35 years from Armco Steel, where he was a weld technician.

Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Weitzel, who he married Sept. 13, 1963; a daughter, Wendy Weitzel of Butler; a son, Russell Weitzel of Butler; three grandchildren, Jacklyn, Candace and Russell Weitzel; a great-grandchild, Stephen Butera; a sister, Darla Hepler of Butler; and a brother, Kenneth Weitzel of Butler.
