Bonnie Montgomery

Bonnie Sue Montgomery, 48, of Boyers Road, Harrisville, Mercer Township, died at 10:11 a.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Grove City, July 13, 1960, she was the daughter of Paul M. Montgomery and Lois M. Crawford Montgomery.

She was married to William Erick Laing.

Bonnie was a graphics artist at Slippery Rock University, where she had worked since the early 1990s. She was a Slippery Rock High School graduate and worked as a typesetter for the Tri-County News before going to the university. In 1995 at the university, she was the winner of the President's Award for Outstanding Service.

She loved her animals, her cats and dog, the ocean and riding motorcycles and fishing. She enjoyed traveling to Colorado and enjoyed the Rocky Mountains and all the western mountain ranges. She also was a distributor for the Gold Canyon Candles and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She was a member of the East Main Presbyterian Church in Grove City.

Surviving are her husband, William E. Laing at home; her mother, Lois M. Montgomery of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Brenda J. Snyder and her husband, Frank, of New Castle and Betsy A. Patterson and her husband, Bill, of Slippery Rock; and a brother, Dennis P. Montgomery and his wife, Sherlyn, of Yampa, Colo. Also surviving are a niece, Lisa Montgomery and a nephew, Dustin Montgomery, both of Sterling, Colo.; and a number of cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father.

<B>MONTGOMERY</B> — Visitation for Bonnie Sue Montgomery, who died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home, </B>421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
