Marianne H. Banchansky, 71, of Butler died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 21, 1937, in Lyndora, a daughter of the late John and Mary Mroczek Palace.

Marianne was a homemaker and mother. She also was a beautician and formerly owned and operated Marianne's Beauty Nook on Chestnut Street during the 1960s.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.

She greatly enjoyed reading, cooking and going on gambling trips with her husband.

Her husband, Eugene "Gene" Banchansky, who she married Oct. 5, 1963, survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mark E. Banchansky of Dublin, Ireland, and Brent A. Banchansky and his wife, Julie, of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dolores Village of Bethel Park; "the sister she never had," Mrs. Bill (Gladys) Kredel of Butler; and her close cousin, Mrs. Nick (Teddi) Heider of Butler.

<B>BANCHANSKY</B> — Friends of Marianne H. Banchansky, who died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora with Abbott Leo M. Schlosser, pastor, officiating.Parastas services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
