1:24 p.m. Wednesday — Acar driven by Keith Bacheler, 19, of Butler struck the rear of a minivan on West New Castle Street. Police said Bacheler, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for careless driving. Tim Bish, 41, of Butler was driving the van.11:07 a.m. Wednesday — Breeze Hamersley, 22, of Butler is accused of shoplifting about $100 in clothing items from the Kmart store in Pullman Square. She is charged with retail theft.Tuesday — A Butler Township man faces criminal charges after a 17-year-old girl told police that she and the defendant performed sex acts on one another for several weeks beginning Sept. 2 at a Fairview Avenue home. Berdell Hilliard, 50, is charged in the case with corruption of minors.1:33 p.m. Monday — Kimberly Jo Jarvis, 41, of Butler is accused of hitting her teenage son and endangering her 2-year-old daughter during a domestic dispute at her ex-husband's First Street home.Police said the defendant and Paul Jarvis, her former husband, were arguing when their 16-year-old son stepped in to try and calm down his mother. But Kimberly Jarvis allegedly struck him in the arm, causing several scratches on his right forearms, according to court documents.Kimberly Jarvis later threw a beer bottle against the house and got into a fight with her ex-husband on top of the steps to a deck, police said. Paul Jarvis was holding the couple's daughter at the time.The defendant allegedly pulled at the child, trying to take the girl from her ex-husband's arms. The girl was not injured. Kimberly Jarvis is charged with child endangerment and simple assault.Monday — Donald Bruno Manuel Jr., 23, of Butler was arrested after he crashed into a parked vehicle on North Monroe Street near Locust Street. While investigating the crash, officers learned that Manuel was wanted on a felony warrant.The suspect was placed in Butler County Prison on the warrant. Police also cited Manuel for driving with a suspended license and with an expired inspection.
2:29 a.m. Thursday — Scott Tunstall, 38, of Butler is accused of stealing a pumpkin pie from the Eat 'n Park on New Castle Road. Police said Tunstall reached around the display case and snatched the pie. Tunstall is charged with retail theft.9:50 p.m. Wednesday — An unidentified white car struck a U-Haul truck parked in front of Rapps Bicycle Shop on New Castle Road. The eastbound car went off the road and hit an International truck for sale before driving away.Awitness told police that the late-model car made a U-turn and headed west on New Castle Road. The white male reportedly was driving the car, which had a flat tire. The suspected car was last seen traveling west on Evans City Road.Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
6:58 p.m. Wednesday — Cars driven by Dylan O'Donnell, 17, of Butler and Elva Leitem, 78, of Chicora collided at Route 68 and Fared Drive in Oakland Township. Both drivers suffered minor injuries. Leitem was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment.5:23 p.m. Wednesday — A16-year-old Slippery Rock area boy was not injured when his homemade motor-driven cycle caught fire on Saniga Road near Coaltown Road In Cherry Township.Police said that the cycle, modified with a 5-horsepower engine, was not registered or insured, and was not legal for the street. The teen was given three traffic citations.6:30 a.m. Wednesday — An unknown vehicle struck a metal fence at Copper's Lake Campground on Currie Road in Muddy Creek Township, and drove away after the crash.9:27 p.m. Tuesday — Salyan Phothong, 37, of Allison Park, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 at Mystic Lanes in Middlesex Township.Tuesday — Atool box containing assorted tools and a cosmetics case were stolen between 2 and 4:30 p.m. in a burglary at the Route 108 home of Richard McDowell Jr. in Slippery Rock Township.
