Calvin L. Fair

Calvin L. Fair, 90, of Butler passed away Sept. 22 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Widnoon, Feb. 15, 1918, he was the son of the late James N. and Melda Bish Fair.

He was a retired mechanic from Kelly Chevrolet-Cadillac, where he worked for 30 years.

A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the 359th Fighter Group, 368th Squadron, stationed in East Anglia, England.

He is survived by two sons, Russell Fair of Butler and Roger Fair of Butler; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Deborah) McClelland of Butler; one brother, Floyd Gilbert Fair of Butler; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys E. Soper Fair, who passed away July 6, 2000; two brothers, Francis Fair and James C. Fair; and one sister, Janice Fair Curzi.

<B>FAIR</B> — There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Calvin L. Fair, who died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., with the Rev. Mary Kitchen of the East Butler Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be private.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
