Eiko Cochran

Eiko Cochran, 81, of Butler died of an illness Saturday at her home.

Born in Tokyo, Japan, March 14, 1927, she immigrated to the United States and became a U.S. citizen in 1965.

She retired from Mine Safety Appliances in 1989 after more than 10 years of service.

Mrs. Cochran was a member of the Butler Artists Association. She won many prizes at local art shows for her watercolor paintings.

She loved dogs and cats, and she adopted many homeless pets over the years.

She is survived by two daughters, Pat Cochran-Hilliard of Butler and Molly Murphy of Tennessee; and one brother, Sadamasa Nishimoto of Japan.

She was preceded in death by three sisters; and her longtime companion, Waldo Campbell.

<B>COCHRAN</B> — There will be no visitation. Funeral services and burial for Eiko Cochran, who died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, will be private.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, and information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
