Frances J. Homa
Frances J. Homa, 87, of Lyndora died Friday at her residence.
She was born Jan. 18, 1921, in Butler, a daughter of the late Victor and Anna Senko Yalshevec.
Frances was a homemaker, mother and grandmother and was a member of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora. She also was a member of the Ladies Guild at her church.
As a young lady, she had worked at the Spaide Shirt Factory in Butler, and she was a poll worker in Lyndora for over 25 years. She was also a member of Greek Catholic Union 109.
Her husband, Wallace Homa, whom she married May 20, 1950, preceded her in death Nov. 20, 1990. A brother and three sisters also preceded her.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Wallace F. and Alvina Homa of Cochranton and Victor N. and Lorrie Homa of Evans City; a daughter and her husband, Karen A. and William Trapp of Valencia; a sister, Mrs. Helen Delaney of Butler; and two brothers, Joseph Yalshevec of Phoenix, Ariz., and Steve Yalshevec of Butler. Seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
<B>HOMA </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Frances J. Homa, who died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora with Abbot Leo M. Schlosser, pastor, officiating.
