June Albert, 85, of Prospect died early Sunday morning at Orchard Manor in Grove City.

Born Jan. 9, 1923, in Weirton, W.Va., she was the daughter of Lyman Boring and Nellie Long Boring.

She graduated from Butler High School.

She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where she had been active in Bible school and Sunday school activities as well as the kitchen crew and the Rebeccas.

She was a member of the Prospect Community Women's Club and had been a member of various golfing and bowling leagues and card clubs in the area. She also was an avid baker.

For years, she worked at the former Bryan Brother's Store in Prospect and Magills in Meridian as a butcher. During World War II, she worked at the shell shop in Butler.

She also loved music and had a song for everything.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. David (Diane) Miller of Karns City and Susan Penna of Emlenton; two sons, Galen Albert II of Prospect and Charles Albert of Greer, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

Her husband, Galen W. Albert, who she married May 11, 1940, died Dec. 29, 1996. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a sister and two brothers.

<B>ALBERT</B> — Visitation for June Albert, who died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B>, 443 Main St., Prospect. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Presbyterian Church of Prospect with the Rev. Rob Allison of her church and the Rev. Richard Rowe, who is retired from the Presbyterian Church in Petrolia, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
