The unknown thief broke a rear window to get inside the locked vehicle owned by Howard Lunn of Spring City, Chester County.Wednesday — An unknown would-be burglar tried unsuccessfully to break into the Gill Road home of John Jennings in Pine Township. The attempted burglary occurred between Oct. 10 and Wednesday.7:10 a.m. Tuesday — Timothy Shearer, 27, of Grove City was arrested for allegedly assaulting 25-year-old Ericka Shearer of Grove City during an argument at an Irishtown Road home in Pine Township. Shearer is accused of hitting the woman on the side of her face with a plastic case containing a cordless drill.Police said Ericka Shearer suffered swelling, bruising and redness around her right eye and the face, and her mouth and gums were bleeding.The defendant was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $2,500 bond.
