Donald Llewellyn Hall, 66, was called to Heaven by the Lord on Saturday at his home.

Don was born in Butler Memorial Hospital, May 18, 1942, the son of the late Roy McConnell Hall and Edna Wray Hall, who both lived in West Sunbury.

Don graduated from the first class of Moniteau High School in 1960 and received a teaching degree from Slippery Rock State College in 1966.

He married the love of his life, Doris Diana Dunkel, Aug. 7, 1965, at the Unionville Presbyterian Church.

He was a substitute teacher in the South Butler School District in 1966 and then took a manager position in the toy department of Toy King. In August 1968, Don went to American Hardware as an order filler and stayed with the company through TruServ, retiring after 32 years in October 1999.

Don was highly active in scouting as a Cub Scout master of Pack 19, Meridian, in 1975-77; committee chairman of Troop 12 at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church; and committee chairman of the American Hardware Explorer Post.

He was a former member of the Saturday Night Church Bowling League and the Mama's & Papa's Bowling League. Even in retirement, he enjoyed trout fishing, the outdoors, writing poetry, and puzzles. He remained a loyal Steelers fan to the end.

He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council as a deacon and president of the congregation. Don also taught seventh and eighth grade Sunday school with his wife. He was a part of the Good News Sunday School Class and a former member of the church golf league.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, the Rev. Ronald Llewellyn and Judi Hall of Galeton, Pa., and John DeWayne and Beth Hall of Grand Rapids, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nathan, Rebecca, Daniel, Joshua, Jesse, Benjamin, Emma and Ian Hall; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Ann) Anderson of Webb Road, Slippery Rock and Mrs. Robert (Mary Lou) Riffle of Ligonier; three nieces, Wendy Vogelsand, Jackie Vaughn and Leslie Miller; and two nephews, Jake Riffle and Tim Anderson.

<B>HALL</B> — Friends of Donald Llewellyn Hall, who died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Visitation also will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon Tuesday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., with his pastor, the Rev. Alden W. Towberman officiating.
