Gretchen Geibel, Fallon Bachman, Emily Moorhead and

Trey Neveux, attended the Students Against Destructive Decisions, SADD, Youth Leadership Institute and Rally Oct. 6.The students participated in a leadership training course led by Nigel Wrangham where they acquired the skills needed to organize a 2008 SADD Youth Rally. On Oct. 7 the students helped train 200 students from across the commonwealth on important issues pertaining to underage drinking.The event concluded with a news conference on the steps of the capital building in Harrisburg, where Geibel gave an inspirational speech to motivate students to take action against underage drinking.———

<B>Sam Noblit</B> recently was named queen of the Clarion University homecoming festivities.Noblit is a senior mass media arts, journalism and communication studies major. She is a graduate of Karns City High School and the daughter of Mike Noblit of East Brady.———<B>Ryan Thomas</B> of Cranberry Township was accepted into the Westinghouse Science Honors Institute. The institute is a program for high school juniors who demonstrate a strong interest in science and have high academic standing.Thomas is the son of Michael and Wendy Thomas and is a junior at Seneca Valley High School.
