Fair

John C. Fair of Prospect, known to family and friends as "Sonny," was born Aug. 7, 1939, and passed away Sept. 5, 2008.

He is survived by two daughters from his first marriage, Susan Miles and Lorie Rucker; grandchildren, Christina Mendoza, Lisa Dennis and Isaac Rucker; great-grandchildren, Ryanne, Alexandra and Jarrod Jr.; sisters, Mary Rivera, Alice Fay Cousins and Carol Fair; a brother; Samuel Pres Fair; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Dean Charles Fair and Alice Jane Torrance Fair; three brothers, Chuck, Bill and Donald Fair; and a sister, Rita Fair.

Sonny worked for J. D. Lamison Drilling in Prospect before he retired. In his younger days, he was a volunteer firefighter for the Harmony Fire Department. He loved to work on and race cars, and in his later days, he was a lover of classic cars and NASCAR.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
