Thomas G. Burney
Thomas G. Burney, 83, of Zelienople, formerly of Ingomar, died Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.
Born Sept. 7, 1924, in Ilion, N.Y., he was the son of Gordon and Emily Miller Burney.
Mr. Burney was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Zelienople. He was a Navy veteran serving in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Elks Lodge 2249 of Cranberry Township.
Tom completed his aviation career by retiring from Batch Air in Florida as vice president of sales and had previously worked at US Air in Pittsburgh.
He is survived by his wife, Jean E. (Nickolls) Burney; a daughter, Dena (William) Raymer of New Hartford, N.Y.; three stepdaughters, Nancy (William) Bridge of Butler, Betty Ann (Joseph) Pezze of Wexford, Carol (Rick) Losasso of Grove City; a stepson, Michael (Melissa) Szelc of Moon Township; a daughter-in-law, Donna Szelc of Lake Norman, N.C.; and by 15 beloved grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Burney; a stepson, Gary Szelc; two brothers and a sister.
