Edward D. "Eddie" Nist, 48, of Jackson Township died Thursday at his home.

Born March 7, 1960, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Charles L. Nist Sr. and his wife, Marion, of Turtle Creek, and the late Barbara Ann (Bartelson) Fink.

Eddie was a six-year U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Zelienople American Legion Post 474 and the Harmony Moose Lodge 957. He was a self-employed contractor and an avid drum player who enjoyed music and who especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter.

In addition to his father and stepmother, he is survived by his wife, Joanie A. Nist; a daughter, Melody Joy Nist; a stepdaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Laskowsky; two sisters, Bobbie and Clay Nist of Allen, Texas, and Angel and Dom Migliozzi of Wexford; and three brothers, Gary and Dana Avant of LaMesa, Calif., Chuck and Kirsten Nist Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Larry R. and Ellen Nist of Tampa, Fla.

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Nist.

<B>NIST</B> — Friends of Edward D. "Eddie" Nist, who died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>BOYLAN FUNERALHOME INC.</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
